Dalai arrived 12/12/24 and is a big mare who needed a soft landing.
Jasper came to us with severely overgrown hooves and a mouth full of sharp and misshapen teeth.
We put him into Quarantine at home and quickly got Veterinary and hoof care for him! He is much more comfortable!
Annie is a senior OTTB mare.
Billy is a senior Thoroughbred gelding.
She was an estray, at risk, in need of rescue. She is now in Sanctuary here. She is as sweet as can be. She is on the UC Davis refeeding protocols - she's emaciated, her thick, dry coat covers a very boney body. She will thrive here. We adore her.
A miniature molly mule who came to us from an at risk situation. Here she is with her now bonded pair, tiny Peanut! Pumpkin is "feral", not wanting to be touched, but we are making progress with her.
Hoof care, dentals, deworming, training all will be provided for these two miniature mules.
Pepper broke his leg at age one month. It healed crooked, but cannot be reset, but he can gallop!
Because he should never be ridden, Pepper will live at Dharmahorse the rest of his life. He lives with the herd now!
He came as a 9 year old stallion, improperly cared for. He is now a gelding.
His hooves were the first "order of business", to bring him comfort and healing.
LUNA came to us having been starved nearly to death TWICE before she was 3 years old.
GITA was dumped in the desert, blind and starving. We rescued her and she will live the rest of her life in Sanctuary.
DREAM CAT came to us after having a foal that had to be pulled. She could not have any more babies, the breeder had taken very good care of her.
JUNIPER is a Navaho Nation, captured, spayed Mustang mare with a goiter who has her forever home here.
SAGE came to us barely able to walk. Pulling his shoes and balancing his hooves brought him back to soundness.
BREEZER came to us because his owner had multiple surgeries and he needed a soft place to land.
TEABERRY was a competition horse who had to retire at a young age. He is in Sanctuary so he won't ever be pushed past his limitations.
ANDY was outgrown by his family years ago and came to us as a "travel size" ambassador in the days before COVID.
COMET is a captured Mustang in his 20's whose owner died and the 16 other horses were placed, but he was lame and needed us because no one wanted him.
