Andy
Handsome Andy came to us in 2013
He was an 18 year old gelding, a small driving and riding pony. We were a school of gentle horsemanship then, rescuing horses as well as teaching and training. Andy taught many children how to ride and taught adults how to drive.
He was Dharmahorse's "travel size horse", an ambassador, going to fundraisers (after we became a 501c3 in 2015) and parades. He carried our flower girl at Mark and Katharine's wedding (on horseback). Andy was "outgrown" by the children at his loving home before coming here.
Andy is in Sanctuary here now, one of our elders who requires special care. He had several episodes of "choke" through the years and cannot have treats, receives soaked orchard grass pellets. He wears a sheath guard in spring and summer after several infections of Habronema in his genitals.
