Chinquapin came into Sanctuary 1/24/25
Chinquapin was one of three equines in a severe cruelty seizure. His back was so injured, we thought he could never be ridden again. And that's okay, he never needs to be "used" again. But he has allowed us to walk around on him bareback! He has some PTSD from being beaten and starved, but it is slowly leaving him.
Proper food, dental care, hoof care, deworming, herbs and kindness brought him back. Around 18 years old, he's a gelding, small and compact. We work to show him that he has a "say" in our interactions with him. We listen to him.
