Chinquapin

Chinquapin came into Sanctuary 1/24/25

Chinquapin was one of three equines in a severe cruelty seizure. His back was so injured, he can never be ridden again. And that's okay, he never needs to be "used" again. He has some PTSD from being beaten and starved.

Proper food, dental care, hoof care, deworming, herbs and kindness brought him back. He is one of those horses who cooperates because he's afraid of the consequences if he doesn't. Around 18 years old, he's a gelding, small and compact. We work to show him that he has a "say" in our interactions with him. We listen to him.
